The lake

A 7-acre lake surrounded by the pine forests and oak thickets of Angeles National Forest, Jackson Lake offers a quiet getaway located walking distance from Camp Big Pines. Jackson Lake is perched at an elevation of about 6,000 feet, giving it a mild climate – it's not uncommon to see a thin sheet of ice on the lake in the winter – with typical summertime temperatures in the low 80s. For many visitors, fishing is Jackson Lake's main attraction, but there are plenty of other ways to enjoy this secluded mountain lake.
